چکیده
The East Sulawesi Ophiolite, one of the three largest ophiolites in world, contains important podiform chromitites. However, origin these chromite deposits is not well constrained. Here, we present detailed mineralogy and situ chemistry solid inclusions within for chromitites from Kabaena Island, Southeast Sulawesi. Chromite grains have low TiO2 (0.17–0.27 wt%) Al2O3 (13.4–15.1 contents high Cr# [Cr/(Cr+Al), molar] 0.70–0.74 Mg# [Mg/(Mg+Fe2+), 0.69–0.75, which resemble those other high-Cr worldwide. MORB-normalized patterns some selected major-trace elements show slightly positive slopes to Mn. Chromite-hosted silicate include olivine, clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene amphibole are characterized by higher Mg/Fe ratios than host peridotites. geothermobarometry chromite-hosted clinopyroxene-orthopyroxene pairs indicates that estimated T-P conditions parental magma 950–1010°C 7.0–8.4 Kbar. extreme-Mg-rich olivine (Fo >96) with extremely Ni (5300–8200 ppm) Cr (1500–6700 interpreted crystallized high-Mg boninitic melts, Fo were then elevated subsolidus re-equilibration (Fe–Mg Fe–Ni exchange) chromite. Sulfide contain base metal minerals containing millerite rare pentlandite chalcopyrite, platinum-group laurite-erlichmanite series, Ir–Ni monosulfide, irarsite cuproiridsite. This sulfide assemblage reveals their magmas experienced evolution T f(S2) early late stage. Finally, combined palaeogeographic reconstruction Sulawesi, propose this region formed reaction depleted mantle beneath a juvenile island arc, implying initiation new subduction Miocene.

Chromite Composition and Accessory Minerals in Chromitites from Sulawesi, Indonesia: Their Genetic Significance
Several chromite deposits located in the in the South and Southeast Arms of Sulawesi, Indonesia, have been investigated by electron microprobe. According to the variation of the Cr# = Cr/(Cr + Fe3+), the chromite composition varies from Cr-rich to Al-rich. Small platinum-group minerals (PGM), 1–10 μm in size, occur in the chromitites. The most abundant PGM is laurite, which has been found inclu...

Housing Conditions Contribute to Underweight in Children: An Example From Rural Villages in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia
Objectives The prevalence of underweight in children under 5 years of age is anomalously high in Konawe District, Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. This state of affairs may be related to poor housing conditions, such as limited access to clean water, the absence of a sanitary latrine, and the use of poor housing materials. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effect of housing cond...
